How Matilda Does Church

When Matilda gets dressed it's always an event and it's been that way ever since she was 6 months old.  So you can imagine what a big deal her church outfits are these days, now that her horizons have been opened and the world of "princess dresses" actually interest her.  We've had especially freezing temperatures here in Toledo the past few weeks and this week she insisted on forgoing the usual spin-y dresses and instead opted insisted demanded to wear her "Animal Outfit".  This is a much loved outfit given to her by her Debi.  It's worn at least once a week in some form.  It consists of a pink polka dot shirt with a kitten on it, cheetah print leggings, and a black corduroy skirt with a cheetah print hemline and bow.  Please keep in mind that she's 1/2 Jersey-Girl, although that half seems to be dominating her wardrobe right now.  Seriously.  I think a little bit of Scott dies every time she walks out in one of her animal print outfits, pajamas, or shoes.

But this week, there was a twist:

For Christmas, Matilda's Honey sent her many pairs of princess shoes (5 total and yes, she wears them every day).  Pictured here is her favorite pair - they're Cinderella shoes that have a light up, 1" heel and are legitimate shoes.

She was so excited when she came downstairs after getting dressed that she asked me to take her picture again.  This is a fairly recent development and I'm more than willing to oblige.

I swear I didn't ask her to blow kisses.  Where she got this from, I have no idea.  But it's stinking cute and I love it.

She was too busy moving around, showing Dad and Bruce how beautiful she looked for me to get a decent full body shot.  It doesn't help that after almost 3 years together my phone's camera has a hairline scratch on it so that all of my photos look a little out of focus or blurry.  But here she is!

In the end, the several inches of snow on the ground finally convinced her that it would probably be best if she switched out of the heels and into more sensible shoes.  Since she already had a theme going on she decided against the sparkly shoes and went with the {non-matching} cheetah print flats that she has.  Oh Matilda, if I could, I would buy you ALL of the animal print clothing I could get my hands on!

sensible shoes? she needs some non-sensible boots for your Toledo winter. Some cute black ones with a wedge heel would be very versatile with her animal print wardrobe.
