Mommy-Princess Pictures

In September a light went off in Matilda's head.  It felt like overnight she completely disregarded her well-loved Thomas the Tank and Lightening McQueen movies.  My little girl picked up her "baby beauty" doll and told me she was a princess.  I HAVE NO IDEA WHERE THIS CAME FROM!  I didn't even own any princess-type movies!  But the tide had changed and my lovely house has been degraded by mountains of glitter.  For her birthday, I decided there was no point in fighting it any longer.  It had been a month and it was obvious she wasn't planning on giving up these girly notions anytime soon.  And that night, Cinderella entered our lives.

Now, the fact that she immediately fell in love is not what I'm here to discuss.  In fact, I'm going to jump ahead to last night.  We had watched Cinderella for the umpteenth time and it was close to bed time.  Matilda turned to me after the movie ended and asked, "mommy, you married daddy?  Like princess Cinderella married?"  I started to explain that yes, actually, I *did* marry daddy and that yes, it was a princess wedding.  Luckily, I had just transferred our wedding photos onto the "new" computer (that we got a year ago) a few weeks ago.  We just had our 7 year anniversary last month and as I was pulling them up I realized I don't think I've ever shared wedding photos.  Sure, it's been 7 years and no one but me really care all that much, but the pictures are great AND the Bride looked smoking hot.  She deserves to be mentioned.  Wink.  But I digress.  These are Matilda's favorite pictures and what she thought about them:

So, this is my youngest sister Sam.  However, it was one of the first pictures that came up and she is absolutely convinced that's her in a princess dress.  And that she went to a ball.  I tried to explain, but she is still so adamant that I stopped fighting.

Next up are my "glass slippers".  I think she looked at them for a good 2 minutes.  She kept tracing the sparklies and telling me they're booty-full.  She then ran into the next room to grab her slippers and proudly showed me that she had a pair too.

Matilda went CRAZY over this photo.  It's definitely not a favorite of mine but she oohed and ahhed over the dress.  We zoomed in and she got so excited over the small details, which is kind of funny since she's only 3.  But hey!  The things she loved are the things that made me choose it in the first place.  What can I say, she has good taste!  I didn't specifically buy a "princess dress", but i love that she thinks it is :)

"Mommy!  IS DADDY!  HE SO CUTE!"  This was followed up with several "awww"s as she kept looking at him.  She also loved the boutonniere, which is good because I'm pretty sure only Matilda and I were fans. Scott normally wouldn't care, but the pollen or something was bothering him and he kept sneezing until we finally decided to just take off the jacket.  We also counted the individual berries or buds or whatever they are multiple times.

Matilda was so excited to see Daddy dancing with Mommy.  She got all starry eyed and said, "oh mommy, daddy lubs you."  Yes Tilda, yes he does.

Matilda couldn't care less about this picture.  But it's my absolute favorite so I'm including it down here because I can.

If that last picture doesn't say "princess wedding", I don't know what does. Gorgeous!

Miss you, my friend!
